Manor Park Community Council
New three-story mural at 1805 Gaspé Ave.
By Manor Park Chronicle
November 24, 2023
The new, three-story mural at
Manor Park Community Council
‘s new headquarters at 1805 Gaspé Ave. was unveiled in September, and
during a recent open house
. It was created by
Ottawa muralist Emilie Darlington
(third from left) and local youth artists. From left to right, Maya Cultrera, Caitlyn Groleau, Emilie, Lewis Punnett Clarkson, Grace Renton and Jori Pouling. Also involved, though not pictured, are Serena Sass, Alicia Regis and Lily Fleur Marks. One of the highlights of the open house was the grand unveiling of the newly licensed daycare. Parents and children alike had a wonderful time exploring this bright and inviting space. The rooms are filled with educational resources in an atmosphere that fosters learning and growth for toddlers and preschoolers. MPCC staff hopes the daycare proves a vital resource for families. They want to provide them with a safe and nurturing environment for their children.
MPCC’s renovated spaces (“The Studio” and “The Arts Space”) also received enthusiastic feedback. According to MPCC Chair Mark Smith, “These are more than just rooms; they are a hub for wellness, creativity, events and rentals for our community members. We are committed to providing a diverse range of classes and workshops that cater to all ages and interests, ensuring that 1805 Gaspé becomes a vital part of our community.” Photo supplied
