Last year a few of the art treasures from the National Gallery of Canada provided the backdrop showcasing the ever popular and dynamic rallying cry — “Elbows Up!” We’re not done yet.

Still, while we need to keep a defensive posture, we need to also move forward with solutions. Hence the hands.

This year the theme of the art quizzes focuses on the ‘hand’. The hand points the way. The hand carries the spark of creation. The hand makes things happen. IT’S THE ‘HAND’ THAT TELLS THE TALE.

I’ve chosen artistic gems from the National Gallery of Canada that depict in poignant ways how the theme of ‘Hands Telling the Tale’ comes to life.
