As reported in the Chronicle’s November-December edition, Iryna Yushkova and her daughter Viktoria arrived in Ottawa on October 6, 2022, the night their city, Ivano Frankivsk, was bombed. They found support from Manor Park resident Dagmara Brunst, who housed them upon arrival and helped Iryna find work. Since then, with the help and donations of money, goods and labour from many more in the community, they were able to move into a new apartment in mid-December.
