Here’s what Manor Park residents need to know about upcoming Ontario election in Ottawa-Vanier. The Ontario provincial election is coming up on Thursday, Feb. 27. Here is some key information and dates to remember.

Who’s running in Ottawa-Vanier?

According to Elections Ontario, there are six candidates vying for your vote during this campaign:

Advance Voting

There are several locations within the riding where one can vote in advance of the actual Election Day. They are:

The Ontario election in Ottawa-Vanier local election office, Trillium Building, 214 Montreal Rd. in Vanier, Jan. 30 to Feb. 26 (Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.; in person voting ends on Feb. 26 at 6 p.m.),

Centre Pauline-Charron, 164 Jeanne-Mance St., Vanier, Feb. 20-22, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.,

Gloucester High School, 2060 Ogilvie Rd., Feb. 20-22, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.,

Lowertown Community Centre, 40 Cobourg St., Feb. 20-22, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Vote by Mail

One can apply online to vote by mail. Visit https://votebymail.elections.on.ca for full details. The deadline to apply to vote by mail is 6 p.m. on Feb. 21.

How and where to vote on election day?

Anyone who is on the Register will receive a voter information card (VIC) with details on when and where to vote. Be sure to bring this and one piece of identification that shows your name in order to receive a ballot.

If you don’t receive a VIC, you can still vote on Election Day. Bring a piece of identification showing both your name and home address. This will allow you to register and receive a ballot. All eligible voters must be 18 years of age, a Canadian citizen and resident of Ontario

For Manor Park residents, voting on Election Day, Thursday, Feb. 27, will take place at Manor Park Public School, 100 Braemar St., from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
